Hotel Pennsylvania and Vicinity, 1919
This piece of cartographic ephemera is from a flier that was produced by the Hotel Pennsylvania, located directly across 7th Avenue from Penn Station. The map reveals what Penn Station's neighborhood was like in 1919. It also reveals further architectural details, mainly a tunnel under 7th Avenue that led directly to the hotel. Sadly, the hotel, also designed by McKim, Mead, and White, is due to be demolished to make way for an office tower.
